Our Story

Danny’s Barber Shop is a local business 26 years in the making.  Danny Mershon began his career at fast-paced Fort Hood Military base in Killeen, Texas serving our military personnel for over 14 years and built his repertoire of skills cutting every type of hair and style imaginable. Ten years ago Danny opened his first Barber shop, Barber & Beauty, in Cedar Park, Texas. As Barber & Beauty’s loyal customer base grew, additional barbers joined the team, remodeling took place to accommodate growth, but some things like parking space remained a challenge.  When it became apparent that Barber & Beauty had outgrown its location near Cedar Park High School, the vision for Danny’s Barber Shop began.

Danny paired his 26 years of Barber experience and dreams for an upscale Barber Shop. The perfect location was selected, ambiance and atmosphere drove the architectural layout and design, and the wheels were set in motion. A logo and brand was decided, contracts were negotiated, permits obtained, financing hoops were jumped through, selection of interiors and finish-out details were made, and many long days and nights working, organizing, scheduling, reviewing, filing, etc. were toiled over, all while Danny continued to operate the existing location to accommodate clients’ needs.  Barber & Beauty officially closed its doors for the last time at the end of business hours on Saturday, April 26, 2014 and it was off to the races to prepare for opening at our new location.

Finally, on May 1, 2014, Danny’s Barber Shop was officially open for business and the “ooh’s and ahhhh’s” were plentiful.  Convenience of location, ample parking, and an interior “WOW” factor with high-end furnishings, dedicated waiting areas for adults and children with free Wi-Fi, game room amenities including competition billiards and shuffleboard, big screen high-definition televisions from every angle, fully expanded menu of services-including the addition of special events by reservation, additional barber team members- each bringing a specialized skill set were brought aboard, and an expanded retail product line awaited our new and existing clients. A grand time was had by over 400 attendees at the Grand Opening Customer Appreciation Celebration on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Our loyal clients contributed in every way! Kenny Amponsah AKA “Kenny Duet” was in charge of tunes and dancing, Pat & Dee-Dee Sanchez of “Dee-Dee’s Catering” along with their family and friends had the food and beverages covered with gargantuan smoked turkey legs, roasted corn on the cob, hot dogs, nachos, etc….., our friends and family helped with games, “tattoos”, cutting cake, handing out balloons, and photographing the event.  Our deepest gratitude to Paul Compton, AKA “VIP” and family, the Hoffman family, Cartwright, AKA “CW3”, and Benoit and family, owners of King Florist, sponsored major attractions at “Danny’s” which make up our special ambiance.  Danny is committed to sponsoring local businesses, mostly owned by our loyal clients for each phase of “Danny’s” construction; check them out while visiting the shop on our “Supporting our Clients” business board.
